TAGGING PREFERENCES Preferred tag speed: Tagging speed you don't work well with: How much planning do you prefer to do before jumping in? Anything else about style, pacing, etc? How important is shipping to the story for you? Or would you rather avoid it? Are you interested in writing NSFW content?
WORLDBUILDING Multicharacter PSL: Are you comfortable involving many characters, or do you want to focus on just the main pair? NPCs: Do you enjoy writing NPCs and background characters, or would you prefer to avoid them? Setting Details: How comfortable do you feel inventing and describing details of the shared setting that haven't been previously discussed in your tags?
Here is the character specific information, to be filled out in a new comment for each character. If any of the above information varies by character, feel free to make a note of that in this comment.
CHARACTER INFO Character name: Character age: Canon: Basic info: a quick rundown of your character's basic personality, job, lot in life, etc etc Appearance: link to an image or write a basic description Setting: what kind of setting are they from? what kind of other settings are you willing to fit them into? are there any settings you're not interested in?
PLOTTING Storylines you want to write: if you have any preexisting ideas you want to find a parter to write with you Themes you want to explore: (ex: building loyalty, overcoming trauma, dragons in general) Roles your character can play to others: (ex: bodyguard, weapon trainer, grizzled war vet, mercenary captain) Shipping: If you're interested in including shippy content, what gender(s) and personality types do you prefer for this character?
CANON CHARACTER SPECIFIC: Are you interested in crosscanon PSLs? How closely do you want to adhere to canon in terms of headcanons? Are you interested in an AU, or OU only?
SAMPLE RP: want to test your writing compatibility before you commit to a storyline? post a link to a top level of 1-3 simple scenarios (maybe there is a link here to a list of prefab scenarios, if needed)
PLAYER INFO Player name: zee Preferred contact: PM or comment here, plurk or discord if we wanna settle into longform writing (or if we already know each other there) Timezone: PST (GMT-8) Brackets or prose? Gentle preference for prose unless it's a quick thing, brackets start to feel silly with lots of words in them.
TAGGING DETAILS Preferred tag speed: I love an initial flurry of activity as we get things established. Then happy to have it fade into boomeranging for a bit a few times a week, with slow tags outside of that. Acceptable tag speed: Slow but steady back and forth tags once or twice a day. Tagging speed you don't work well with: A constant flurry of activity, I'm too old and tired for that anymore. I also do lose interest eventually if the tags are consistently infrequent. How much planning do you prefer to do before jumping in? I like to have an idea what the point of our current scene is, but I don't need every beat worked out in advance. Anything else about style, pacing, etc? I FULLY support dropping a current scene if it's starting to feel slow, and jumping to the next interesting point in the storyline. Life is too short to write things that aren't that exciting, but I don't want to drop the whole PSL whenever I start to feel that slowdown. Also, sometimes I get really busy and disappear for a month, but when I come back I'm ready to go hard and get back into things if you are. Are you interested in shipping? Yes, if/when it gets to it. Most my characters are bi unless stated otherwise, because I prefer a tasty dynamic over anything else. Are you interested in writing smut? Yes if it would advance the characterization or scene, or be interesting and atypical somehow. Otherwise I usually prefer to handwave once their dynamic is established.
WORLDBUILDING Multicharacter PSL: I LOVE many characters floating around, but would prefer to focus on the main pair until we're comfortable with their dynamic. Then I'm down to add whoever we want >:3 NPCs: I can write NPCs but don't always have the energy for it, so a 50/50 division of scene setting and NPC writing labor feels good to me. (I can shoulder a little more than 50% but don't want to do ALL the lifting.) Setting Details: I'm extremely comfortable inventing settings and details unless we're using a preexisting setting that I don't know very well, then I don't want to get things wrong and step on toes.
CHARACTER INFO Character name: Ashraf Salib Canon: Original, but I stick him in D&D a lot, so kinda that. Basic info: tl;dr He's a sad hermit mountain man with ex wife baggage and a load of holy magic, perfect for mentor or stressed babysitter roles. In more detail: he used to hunt demons with his wife, but she got got and was turned into a demon. She hunted him for a while, but he managed to seal her into the Abyss, and is currently just real bummed about all that. He's retired from demon hunting and thinks he only wants solitude these days, but obviously he's ripe for being dragged back into things. Appearance: Tall, bearded, Middle Eastern features, clothes tend to be ornate but well-worn. Here. Setting: What kind of setting are they from? What kind of other settings are you willing to fit them into? Are there any settings you're not interested in? He's typically from a fantasy setting where holy magic is unusual but not unheard of, but I could easily slide him into some light scifi (like Star Wars) or a modern setting. I'm least interested in modern, but a compelling idea will trump any setting disinterest.
PLOTTING Storylines you want to write: The only solid one I really have in mind involves the other player writing his wife as they become enemies; I've got nothing worked out for her except that she was a warrior, so that's a pretty open role. Otherwise, I'd like to see him bump into a character in trouble and involve himself reluctantly in their affairs, until he's too invested to go back to hermiting. He's great in the backup/helper/behind the scenes role to someone more outgoing and mission-based. Themes you want to explore: Getting over the wife baggage/picking yourself back up from being a sadsack. I also really like his holy magic, it's healing/buffing etc, and I'm just always charmed by working that into prose. Roles your character can play to others: Mentor, guide, magic tutor, here to keep you alive as you destroy monsters, sad boyfriend, demon expert. He's compassionate and not afraid to stick his nose where it doesn't belong, so he does well with reticent characters reluctant to open up. He also does well with very outgoing characters who will shove him out of his comfort zone, cuz boy does he need that.
